MVP Sportsplex is a joint venture between RDV Corporation and Spectrum Health.
In 1998, RDV Corporation, in a joint venture with Florida Hospital, introduced Orlando to a 365,000 square foot, world-class fitness facility; RDV Sportsplex. Six years later, RDV Corporation announced expansion of its operations to Grand Rapids, Michigan. Bob Vander Weide and the other DeVos family members are eager to bring the same success and stature of a sports and fitness complex like RDV Sportsplex to their home community. President and CEO of the Orlando Magic and RDV Sportsplex, Bob Vander Weide created the vision of MVP Sportsplex, Grand Rapids. Mr. Vander Weide understands the impact that RDV Sportsplex has in Orlando, and wants to offer Grand Rapids the opportunity to experience their own state-of-the-art sports and fitness community.
Spectrum Health is a community owned, not-for-profit health system based in West Michigan with seven hospitals and more than 140 service sites, including the including DeVos Children's Hospital. Spectrum delivers the highest quality care to those in medical need through their 12,000 employees, 1,400 medical staff members and nearly 2,000 volunteers.
Spectrum Health, a partner with RDV Corporation at the MVP Sportsplex, will house such programs as physical therapy and rehabilitation in a Medical Office Building on the southeast corner of the MVP Sportsplex campus. Additionally, they will lend quality medical expertise for athletic club programming and offer additional services to MVP Sportsplex members.
